Footpath Hebdenroyd 044 runs up between Stubb Community Playing Field and the houses of Nest Estate. Walkers can choose to use this path, or walk up the field itself, but in wet weather the bottom corner of the field can get very muddy, and so this path becomes the preferred option. The brambles and nettles grow very vigorously during the summer, and so it is often blocked by this time of year. Today Andy and Guy brought strimmer and hedge cutter to clear away the vegetation and open up the path again.
They then moved on to footpath Hebdenroyd 043, also known as White Field Lane, that climbs from Park Lane up to Erringden Moor. Much of this path is grazed by sheep and so needs little attention, but the entrance by Park Lane gets overgrown and the drains diverting rainwater off the Lane get blocked. The photos show how this is now all clear again.
