Duncan and Rich went to: sort out the steps at the edge of the Beckett Estate, do some cutting back and replace a fallen waymark post. Today's work was funded by Heptonstall Parish Council.
We also fitted a new Calderdale Way information board in the cabinet at the top of the village.
The details
Where the path emerges from the Beckett Estate there are two routes - one is steep with a very tall step (tricky with a loaded rucksack) and the other, the original 19th century path, is difficult to spot.

| Before and after |
There is a slight dip at the bottom so we will need to check after rain to see if there is any pooling of water.
Then it was down the steps to the rocks to reinstate a waymark post followed by a quick bramble cut-back and the clearing of detritus from the steps.
The final job was to deal with some encroaching brambles and elder on the path to the bowling club - a task accompanied by a superb rainbow.
