Angus, Jerry and Rich went to deal with several reported problems with this path (highlighted on map). Lower down, the edge of the path was crumbling into the river and needed securing. Several sections of the path including some stone steps were very overgrown (almost impassable) and there was a collapsed wall next to a stile to deal with.
The work funded by an individual donor to CROWS. Many thanks.
The banking above the stream was collapsing, so some revetment was installed (not easy to secure). The stone steps above were also cleared.
The stile at the top is not the best of structures but we decided to leave it as it wasn't a real obstacle.
Next task was to remove brambles on the path and carry out some overhead lopping.
The path swings left up some stone steps. Encroaching growth was cut back and step surfaces cleared.
A good path to have bought back into use.
