HEBDEN BRIDGE HILLSIDE

Seed Hill /Rowlands Lane

The season of cutting back overgrown footpaths continues as Nick and Paul were out today trimming a triangle of paths below Seed Hill off Rowlands Lane. The main ROW in this patch needs a deft yearly cut back to enable decent access. We spent a morning sorting out this section of an important link path that angles off from the main Bridleway to go uphill through the fields to Snow Booth in the distance. After lunch we were able to clean up a flight of steps, rake off cut vegetation and trim missed clumps.

Work funded by "Picture This" - Thank you.

Area of work outlined in red.

The paths mentioned were very overgrown:

Example
Paul strimmed this section while Nick cut through overgrown foliage at the back of Seed Hill:

Where is the path?
 We soon made headway:
Clear from the bottom end.

Nick a dab hand with the shears and the rake!
That's better!
Once the pathway had been strimmed we discovered a flight of ten wooden steps and a couple of stone steps hidden in the overgrowth. Paul set about digging out tufts of grass and other invasive plants from the risers.
A section of the steps cleared.

We finished up tidying up the area removing loose cuttings.
Much improved.

Completed!
It's this way!
Nice trail
Curvy view and trim.
