Yes! Today was our 5th and final visit to the many steep steps on this lovely route from Draper Lane down through the woods to the road to Hebden Hey Scout Centre. (The path then goes on down to New Bridge, the gateway to the Crags). The red line on the map shows where we were working.
Today the woods were dark green, warm and mysterious (and full of flies). Andrew, Steve and Stella climbed up from the bottom to replace the remaining three rotten wooden steps, and to improve a couple of other dodgy bits by building some stone steps. It is a steep route and well-used. Several walkers passed us today. It's still steep, but nowhere near as slippery or tricky as it was.
Today's efforts were funded by individual donations to CROWS. We couldn't do a lot of our work without this support. Thank you very much.
