HEPTONSTALL - Calderdale Way

Guy, Stella and Steve continued the work on this path which Rich and Ian V started a few days ago. It's a wonderful path with fantastic views, but in some places it has become very narrow and dangerously close to the edge and the vertical drop through the woods to Colden valley!  So we are widening it to make it safer for the walkers, runners, children and dogs who regularly use it - quite a few folk were out on the path today.  We have  now worked our way about half-way along, so there is more to do.  A great day, in dry weather and full of birdy business - thanks to Guy's ears, eyes and expertise we heard a sparrowhawk, and heard and saw a spotted woodpecker and a flock of long-tailed tits.  A good day to be a CROW!

This work is being funded by Heptonstall Parish Council. .
