Lynda, Stella and Rich did a quick clearance around a tree at Mytholm and then went to complete four jobs around Dodd Naze. Today's work was funded by an individual donation to CROWS.
The cleared path network around Doddnaze: all cut back and waymarked. |
The details
A fallen tree at Mytholm had pushed over a large holly bush causing the path to be partially blocked.
The path is now easy to use, the tree looks very secure, but we will keep an eye on it |
Then it was on to Dodd Naze:
Lynda and Stella installed a waymark post at the start of the path by the reservoir
Waymark disk being added by Rich . . . after all the hard work had been done! |
Rich then went to finish clearing the path down to Birchcliffe.
Loose stones removed and surface scraped to reveal an old paved path |
Next, we all worked on cutting back the path from Manor Drive to Law Lane
Lynda getting stuck into the brambles |
Supervision |
The final job was to clear the path, below the estate, that takes you to the station and Falling Royd.
A collapsed stile was removed, the path was cut back and waymarks were added.

Despite the hot, sticky conditions, it was good to have completed all these 'smallish' jobs.
We hope that before next year the local community will have a regime in place to keep all these paths clear . . . and that they will get well used!
