A team of four, Angus, Ian S, Frank S, and Steve, were out today on the permissive path that goes steeply down from Sandy Gate to the Birchcliffe Centre car park and then on to Nutclough Woods. This had a great number of overgrown steps, with quite a few that were rotting and needed replacement. There was a short waymark post at the top beside Sandy Gate that was lost in the long grass. We replaced it with a tall post that is now visible from the road.
Thanks to Pennine Heritage for providing this permissive path and to the Friends of Nutclough for funding this work.
