LUDDENDENFOOT: Kershaw - steps, steps and more steps!

Two teams returned to Kershaw Crescent yet again to continue the work on the path down to Burnley Road. The team at the top added five more steps to the flight just below Kershaw Crescent, so that there are now eighteen in all.

They also cut back the nettles and brambles along the other path that goes north west down towards Ellen Royd Lane, as well as levelling the junction with the new steps and installing a marker post.

At the bottom of the hill, just above the main road, Jerry and Stella replaced five rotten steps.  Birdsong was obscured by the sound of traffic, but at least the sun came out for a while.

Hmm...looking dodgy

Here is Jerry hard at it

And now you can skip down to the road
without breaking your neck!

Meanwhile in the middle section Steve and Paul put in two lengths of revetment to hold up the steep embankment on this section pathway.

Steep bank to the right.

Revetment in place.

We then installed a way mark post further down this section, while Andrew and Andy did the same at a point down from the top steps where the path divided.

All in all a good days team work!
