In the Depot

 Depot duties

A fine morning (it didn't last) saw a gang of CROWS unload the timber from the early delivery by the ever-punctual CALVAG. Once the unloading was completed two teams departed for other tasks (see separate posts) leaving Jerry and Frank to carry out in-house jobs. Here we go . . .

1. Hauling timber:

Timber being selected for cutting into
risers, cross-treads, kickboards etc

2. Power Saw skills:

Concentration is the watchword - spare
fingers are in short supply!

3. Just the drill:

Pre-drilling standard items. Doing this in a dry
depot saves considerable on-site time.

All standard items e.g. risers, cross-treads, kickboards, stobs, stile timbers, marker-posts and (thanks to yesterday's work by Ken) dog-gate kits are now up to maximum capacity. Mmm! How long will that last?

4. In addition:

a) The power saw was thoroughly cleaned and oiled. b) Loppers, shears, spades and mattocks were checked/oiled/sprayed as appropriate. c) The depot was swept out. d) Several boxes of donated items (a shed clearance) were categorised as useful, repairable, recyclable or scrap. e)  Batteries were recharged and f) Minor help was given to the landlord who came promptly as promised to repair the main door.

Phew! All packed into a morning's work . . . just in time for the rain to start!
