BLACKSHAW HEAD - Daisy Bank Clough

After significant efforts CROWS have managed to find some qualified dry-stone wallers willing to assist with the repairs to a small packhorse bridge crossing  Daisy Bank Clough on the moor near to Lane Side. This is at the junction of Blackshaw 050 and Blackshaw 046 (Long Row and Lower Lane)

RJ, David and Neil Mc spent today's session clearing back the vegetation around the bridge so that we and, more importantly, the dry-stone walling team, can work out what needs to be done . . . and how!

Today's work has been funded by individual donations to CROWS. Many thanks.

One section of the bridge is in danger
of collapsing into the stream.

Neil Mc and RJ working out what
to do next!

The bridge and surrounds are now easier
to see.

The downstream bridge section.

Information notices in place.
