Today we were focusing on clearing old job sheets in the depot and Ray, Jerry and Paul set about completing a job that had been hanging around since May 2022. This involved replacing a rotted stock fence post, reseating or replacing a stile post (work had been done 12 months ago to replace a two leg stile) and cutting back vegetation in Brock Holes Wood.
Work funded by a Hebden Royd Town Council grant to improve paths in Cragg Vale. Thank you.

The two "dodgy" upright posts |
We parked the vehicle at Great House and waded through a sea of bracken to get to the stile. The stile post was salvageable but the stock fence post was rotted through at the bottom. The intrusive bracken was cut away, the old post detached from the fencing . . . and then some serious digging began!¬
Ray getting down to business!
Meanwhile Paul set about cutting back the jungle of bracken from the ROW that snaked its way downhill.

Meanwhile Paul cut his way through two stretches of bracken-lined footpaths to clear the way downhill.
