WADSWORTH / HEIGHT ROAD

 WADSWORTH / HEIGHT ROAD

It was a blustery day on the Height Road as Heidi, Linda, Ginny and Paul set about tackling an overgrown path that led up to Mount Skip Golf Course. Heather, Bilberry and Bramble had encroached making the path uninviting and virtually impassable.

At the beginning.

Heidi and Linda set about making the path wider utilizing various tools in the process until:

Meanwhile, Ginny and Paul installed a couple of marker posts nearby. The initial one was positioned at the juncture of the Calderdale Way and a subsidiary link path, below Cock Hill. This will help guide walkers who are following one of the routes outlined in the new 'Pecket Well Village Walks' leaflet due to be published in the spring.

The second post was placed on the footpath that meets the boundary edge path of the Golf Course before it descends to Height Road. This will help walkers to follow the right-of-way and to keep off the green!

Ginny and Paul then re-joined Heidi and Linda to help them finish off cutting back the foliage including an overgrown Holly tree:

The weather didn't improve, the wind continued to bluster followed by the rain so we graciously 'called it a day.' There's a stretch to finish off . . .  but that's for another day.

Work funded in part by Wadsworth Parish Council and in part by other donations to CROWS. Thank you.
