Guide Quarry - Tree Protection Frame
Ian V and new recruit Neil McKeating were up in the mist and rain at Guide Quarry to install another frame to protect a sapling.
First dig the hole for the sapling, then put in four posts around it, and then three surrounding rails to link them all together. Unfortunately, we were left on site without a saw to cut down two over-sized posts, but Mick turned up later with saws to help finish off the job. That leaves just the tree to be planted (Mick's job for tomorrow!) and some wire mesh to be attached to keep the deer out.
Job nearly complete - just the tops of those posts to remove |
And here we go - Mick and Neil sawing in tandem |
The timber for this job was donated by a Cornholme resident and the remaining costs were covered by donations to CROWS. Many thanks.
