MIDGLEY - Lower Han Royd Farm and Foster Clough Farm
Ian S and Jan were at two locations around Midgley. At the first, Lower Han Royd, a very wobbly, but well-used, stile was repaired by completely replacing the step i.e. the treadboard and both legs. As the field is no longer used for goats, the top gate used to stop them escaping had already been removed but the high top rail was lowered to make it easier for humans to get over the stile.
Stile (minus top gate) not looking too bad - but seriously dodgy! |
That's better! |
We got the message! Didn't see or smell anything though... |
Moving on to the fields above Foster Clough Farm, with way markers and a couple of marker posts, the unclear path up to the delph was carefully and logically delineated with lots of yellow.
The marker post will look even better when the redundant farm machinery is removed . . . one day ... |
A beacon in the mist for future generations of walkers ... |
