Jan, Neil and Rich were out working on two paths that are walking routes to Hebden Royd Primary School.
Granny Wood Path
Someone reported through our website last week that a large stone gatepost had fallen across the path through Granny Wood. The gatepost was precariously perched at the top of a steep slope and was making the path very difficult to use.
We managed to move it using steel bars, straps and a mattock so its now secure.

Once the stone was secured, we managed to clear a path alongside it but here is some widening still to be done.
While we were there, we cleared some of the path surfaces and cut back overhanging vegetation.
Some of the steps above the gatepost are rotten and a handrail is broken. We will be back to replace them.
Path behind Glen View
We replaced a bridge a couple of weeks ago and returned to cut back vegetation, clear some steps and level some awkward sections of the path.

We discovered that ten of the steps are rotten and need replacing so a third visit will be needed!
