TODMORDEN - Warland

In the crisp September sunshine, Mick and Neil M paid a return visit to Warland (see 2nd September), to plant waymarks along the route of Todmorden 185. We went northwards from Warland village, and followed the whole length of the path, dropping off round posts at intervals. We reached the junction with Todmorden 145, and here we placed a square post and attached direction signs.

It was heartening to see that the paths were a lot better defined now that the previously cut bracken had withered.  We spotted a walker with a dog, already benefiting from our efforts!

Making our way back to Warland, we fixed the round posts to guide walkers through the extensive area of planted trees. At the lower end of this path, we noted that the gate at the boundary of the buildings needs a replacement post. One more item to go on the task list!

This work was generously funded by individual donations.
