Catherine and
Ian V worked on another tree planting station at Guide Quarry. A bright, blustery day with more than a hint of Autumn in the air. Digging the hole for the tree
and finding a suitable location for the uprights was a little difficult due to the stone and rubble encountered.
| 1. Hole dug for tree and two uprights in place |
| 2. Progress - all four uprights in place. |
| 3. Catherine sawing cross-rails to correct length |
| 5. End of the day's work |
| 4. Top and bottom rails in place |
A few things are needed to finish the job. The ground is still extremely dry so the tree will be planted later after which the final section of cross-rail will be added along with the protective mesh.
Today's work was funded by public donations.
