TODMORDEN - Warland area

Today's team of Neil M, Mick and Kasher went to Warland and cleared two extremely useful paths across the hillside between Stone House and Warland Farm.

Todmorden 145 and Todmorden 185 were both overgrown with bracken and the two stiles on these paths were completely invisible!

There is a stile here somewhere!

Thankfully it was a dry day, but the midges and sweat flies were out in great number which made for uncomfortable working conditions.

A cleared stile.

By the end of the session both paths were again passable, but to keep these clear it is important that they are walked! So rather than going along the canal tow-path please do venture up the hillside and explore this network of paths!

Future work:

We will need to return to:

1. Add in a marker post at the junction of Tod 145 and Tod 185.

2. Put yellow topped posts along Tod 185 towards Warland Farm to clarify the route through and then above the new trees.

3. Repair the stile at the start of Tod 145, near to Warland Lower Lock bridge . . . if funds can be sourced!

Today's work was funded by individual donations to CROWS. Many thanks.
