TODMORDEN - Greystone Lane and environs

Today's team of RJ, Fred and Kasher returned to Greystone Lane (Todmorden 011) where, we had been informed, cattle had managed to break through a fence and venture up Greystone Lane, thereby causing significant damage to the lane and its drainage.

1. RJ creating a path away from
the drain (and the mud!).

2. The fence may not be pleasing to the eye but
may now be sturdy enough to keep out the cattle.

We are grateful to the house owner who made a temporary repair to the fence and informed us about the problem with cattle. We have further strengthened the fence and hope that cattle will not be able to break through. We have also made some repairs to the damaged drainage and have strimmed the the lower section of the lane to make it easier to walk along.

A small section of Todmorden 011 which runs alongside Mount Pleasant, was cleared and cut back. The stile, where this section of footpath enters the field, will need to be repaired. (Yet another task to be included on the Todmorden "to do' list!)

3. Tod 011 adjacent to Mount Pleasant.
4. The cleared FP.

Stile (on Tod 011) awaiting repair.

Two new marker posts were installed: one at the junction of Tod 011 and Tod 010, and a second at the junction of Tod 011 and 008.

6. Installing a low marker post at
the junction of Tod 010 and 011.
7. Deja-vu? Not quite!
Way-marking Tod 011 and 008.

Today's work has been funded by individual donations to CROWS. Many thanks.
