TODMORDEN - Near Pex Tenements

Today, the "Strim and Trim" trio of RJ, Fred and Kasher tackled the footpath (Todmorden 031) behind Pex Tenement. This path, known as Back Lane, runs from near Mount Pleasant to the footbridge over Great House Clough. The path has well-worn causey stones and old setts in places, although these have been damaged by water erosion from the stream at the side of the path.

With two brush-cutters on the go, this overgrown footpath was cleared in one session. The massive tangle of brambles is now under control (for this year at least!). Apologies if we have reduced the 2022 blackberry crop!

1. Fred starting to make inroads
into the overgrown path.

2. The cleared path. A small
marker post is now visible!

3. Another section of the jungle!

4. Mmm! Impressive!

5. RJ in action. Is this bramble topiary?

6. After the brambles comes the bracken.
It's all one to the strimmer blades!

We will be strimming in the same area next week, but concentrating on the paths up to Great Rock.

Today's work was funded by individual donations to CROWS.

Many thanks.
