Linda H and Heidi completed two jobs today, both of which had been reported by members of the public in the last few weeks.
The first job was just below Slitheroe Bridge on the much used path alongside the river Ryburn. Unfortunately the bridge had been vandalised and a cross-tread thrown into the river. Retrieval was not an option!
The surface of the bridge was also very slimy and soil and debris had accumulated over the years.
Heidi in action drilling holes to fix the new cross-tread.
Bridge cleaned up and staples nailed-in to reduce the risk of slipping.
The second job was on the footpath next to Barkisland Hall. This path is on the route of one of the walks in the newly published Barkisland leaflet in the 'Walks round the Villages' series.
The laurel had encroached onto the path and was not welcoming for any walkers.
After an hour or so of severe cutting back, the path was revealed and the site cleared of foliage.
This work was funded by Ripponden Parish Council and individual donations. Many thanks.
