LUDDENDEN VALLEY

Ginny, Mo, Stella and Rich tackled a cluster of jobs on a path from Luddenden Beck up to South Ive House.

A path with several different surfaces and problems!

Stella and Mo rescued a fallen waymark post and reinstalled it.

Further down the four of us pondered how we could deal with a very awkward stile.

We agreed the answer is that it needs a complete rebuild!

Further down, we did a bit of bramble cutting back, then moved down to a very squelchy stream-side path.

Mulch scraped off, water channelled and stepping stones placed

The next job was to rescue a bridge which had become clogged and which was in danger of being washed away.

All cleared but we need to keep an eye on it.

Finally, we dealt with a tree that had fallen over the path and looked at a section of pitched stone path that had been washed out some time ago. Unfortunately there is no sign of the stone so it is too difficult job to tackle.

Work funded by Little Box Consulting.
