Billie and Rich decided to go out even though the forecast was pretty bad - in the end it was just more Pennine drizzle.
The first job was to check the Pennine Way work we did below Edge Lane. The top section that we had tackled was fine, but there is clearly a drainage issue lower down. This has resulted in the path being badly scoured by the heavy rain we had earlier in the week . . . a problem for experts in Calderdale Highways or Natural England, we think!
The second job was to look at a number of problems on a blocked path off New Road, Colden.
We then went to Turrett Hall Woods to finish off the steps on a slippery slope.
Taken the steepness out of the slope |
It's not often there is a convenient place to clean the tools before they go back to the depot! |
