TODMORDEN: Cranberry Dam

Cranberry Dam: 'STEPS-R-US' part 2

Ray, Ian V and Frank H returned to the site of Wednesday's efforts. This time instead of being able to bask in hot sunshine we were treated to more typical South Pennine conditions - RAIN! We got wetter and wetter, and muddier and muddier . . . but at least the steps progressed!

The steps on the south bank have negotiated a steep left-hand turn and those on north blend neatly into the path at the top of the banking. There is more to do:- building additional steps up the south side, consolidating all the tread areas (some are very muddy indeed!), landscaping the edges and constructing a stone step at stream-level to lead onto the south side steps. A sunny day would be ideal!
