Mick and Frank S were working near Cranberry Dam just along the path from where some new steps were being constructed. Walkers had been prevented from following the correct route of the path by a wall, and consequently had been walking along the wrong side of the wall.
The place where the path should have crossed the wall had just a hole at the bottom for sheep! So you could take the correct route . . . but only by crawling through the hole!
Today's job was to open up the hole to make a gap, and to add marker posts with waymarks. Here's a view of the gap in the wall and Mick digging a hole for the new marker post.
Debris was cleared, the ends of the wall were repaired and new marker posts were put in place - one on each side.
We also installed some yellow-top posts a bit further away to encourage walkers along the correct route.
