Lynda and Eleanor were working up near Great Greave House in Soyland. The path which leads down to Blackshaw Clough is on one of the 901 walks (9) which was surveyed a few months back.
Needless to say it has become a jungle since last visited.
but after a bit of hacking back........
......a footpath emerged and we worked our way down the path. Really it could do with a good strim, but the path is stony under the grass and anyway the nettles are starting to die back now.
More of the same further down , but we made some inroads..
The path is pretty boggy in parts but there is an effective drainage channel down one side. On the other side there is running water but no proper channel, so after a bit of digging the water was persuaded to run away under the wall! More work to be done on path and some waymarking .
