DODD NAZE

Dodd Naze

Dick, RJ, Fred, Stella, Graham, Paul and Frank H  - the magnificent seven (allegedly) - returned to Dodd Naze to continue last week's work of revetment construction and in-filling for the flight of steps. Here's the day's progress in pictures:

Swagman RJ: actually it's a bag of rubble!
Frank H creating a pilot hole for
the stob that pins the revetment.

Close up of pilot hole. The revetment
will be levelled up before nailing!
Dick about to start in-fill work on steps.

Frank H near the bottom of the flight.
Sawing technique? ... moderately good!
The gang of seven. Graham took the picture ...
... it must be his doppelganger in the back row!

Progress was very good today. Once the in-fill work has settled we will be able to 'top up' the tread areas as well as completing any landscaping.

This slope (aka 'slide of death') is a well used route from Dodd Naze towards Hebden Bridge railway station. Local donations have raised enough funds for CROWS to have made the descent (and ascent) far less hazardous.
