Cath, Frank S, Ginny, Ian, Mo, Nigel and Rich tackled several tasks in the bottom of the valley. The main path is a popular route but the first section was quite poor and signage for the permissive path was not clear.

Site of todays work |
Ginny, Ian and Nigel worked on the site of Upper Lumb Mill in the valley bottom:-
clearing the route over the arch, putting in a waymark post and widening the permissive path.
 |
It takes a lot of people to decide the direction of the waymark!! |
 |
Path surface tidied and route is now clear. |
They then put in a waymark post where the permissive path meets the Right of Way. The path also needed mulch scraping off the surface.
 |
After scraping - less mud on your boots! |
 |
Mulch on the path before scraping |
Cath, Mo and Frank S cleared a small permissive path going off from the bridleway down to the walled lane below. This work revealed some lovely stone steps. Here's a holly bush that was growing right across the path and shows how the leaf mould was cleared to make the surface easier to walk on.
A waymark post was put in to alert people to this lovely permissive path, and another waymark post was put in at the junction of two paths and the bridleway, .
