A beautiful day on the tops. Ian, Bernard, Lynda and Ginny worked on the path which runs parallel and below the road from Widdop Gate steps towards Blake Dean.

while Lynda and Ginny cut a way through the path which had almost disappeared under the heather.
These chicks were well hidden in the grass and one unfortunately took to the air in fright before we spotted them. My guess is grouse, unless anyone knows otherwise. The other two had disappeared on our return.
The path is now much clearer and waymarked at both ends.
Steps built, but several more needed as well as a revetment further along the path.
