Three teams teams out today.
Team 1.
Graham and Frank H went on a survey jaunt to Hanging Royd (awkward task of many steps through a jungle and up a steep bank); Hebden Water (easy three steps on the path above the old bowling club) and Walshaw (interesting but slightly tricky wall stablisation combined with 'squat' ladder-type stile and then a straightforward field stile over a stock fence). Photos and construction detail to follow over the next few weeks ... months ... !
Team 2
Fred and Ray went to Hebble Hole to survey the repair/improvement work needed on a set of steps and to solve a drainage issue on the path by Colden Water.
For the latter task we have:
A sump was constructed on the up-slope side to catch water that was threatening to wash away the path. A double plastic pipe was installed to run under the path and drain the sump-water into the river.
There is still some revetment work to do here . . . and, of course, all those steps that were surveyed need constructing! Good luck guys - it's stony ground!
Work funded by CROWS
Team 3 went to Widdop (see separate post for details)
