CARR AND CRAGGS MOOR, PORTSMOUTH, BACUP ROAD AND SOURHALL, TODMORDEN

Several teams out today.

Ian and Nigel set off (hopefully for the last time here) through the forestry to the stile at the top of the plantation to complete the stile and dog-gate (started in previous weeks) and to replace the boundary wire fence. We also carried out some waymarking on previous work in the area.

Ian demonstrates the ground clearance with the gate open. Unfortunately we didn't have a dog to test it but the ground clearance is greater than it looks on the photo. Note the "CROWS" logo on the grab post.

The finished job with fencing replaced and the job being admired by a sheep in the adjacent field.

Peter and Frank S went to Badger Wood, Todmorden and added steps and enhanced existing ones. They also infilled a gap off the bridge, cleaned the bridge then re-set some damaged and uprooted waymarker posts further up through the woods.

Gerald and Ken  went to various locations erecting way marker posts.

Mick, Eleanor and Lynda carried out various waymarking and mud clearance jobs in the Bacup Road area of Todmorden.

Copious amounts of stinky mud to a depth of 6 inches at the start of the footpath

Photo taken "after" looking the other way does not look a great deal different, but is a marked improvement
