On a cold, damp and miserable day Alastair and Nigel set off from Todmorden to walk route 6 (7.5 miles) via Hole Bottom, Blackshawhead and Colden Clough to Hebden Bridge. We put up about 8 waymarks and noted several stile problems (for which job sheets will be prepared). However there were no major issues, largely thanks to a recent work party organised by Mick in the Harleywood Gate area which dealt with a number of stile and step problems.
An action shot of Alastair hammering a nail into a waymark near Hippins Clough. The stile here is one of the longer term jobs as it requires a treadboard and possibly new posts.
Walk 5 (5.5 miles) is a well trodden route via Lumbutts, London Road and Pinnacle Lane and was done several weeks ago in glorious sunshine. It did not present any major infrastructure issues.
