LUDDENDEN DENE
Dick, Graham, Ray, RJ and Stuart worked in the rain cutting back and creating a stream crossing over the Ludd.
The crossing had been washed away sometime ago and, with a depth of 1 metre, waders were the order of the day (as modeled by Stuart!).
And then moved into the wood for an all out assault on the balsam.
Four of us worked for 3 hours and cleared quite a bit, but there's plenty left to get rid of!

Virtually impossible to cross here

Gaps needed to be created to allow the flow of water but we will need to revisit in winter to see if further, more permanent work is needed.
The photo below shows the overgrown holly which was to be cut back. Unfortunately no after photo because of rain on the lens.

This is a very pleasant path so it was good to make it accessible again.
Mo, Alastair, Gerald and Ginny worked under trees in the Nutclough, so were more sheltered.
On the path up from the bridge we did some cutting back of brambles and branches.
