3 teams out today
Nigel and Ken went to re-visit a job at Greens Clough that they started several weeks ago. The task, on the bend of the path, involved some difficult revetment work made awkward by having to hold back the hillside whilst nailing the revetment from behind. The revetment had to be temporarily constructed in situ but then fully assembled and nailed away from the site before being permanently placed.
This was the work done last time after the path had been cleared of debris from the collapsed embankment.
Another view:- the embankment to the left had given way |
After removing (hopefully!) any further possibility of rock and soil fall, we got the assembled revetment into position.

A "Crows" funding logo added for completeness
Mick and Gerald re-set marker posts on the Tod Centenary Way . . . thankfully without being blown off the hillside! This work was funded by CROWS.
Peter and Ginny repaired the Open Access information board at the start of Flower Scar Road.
The frame needed sanding down and varnishing before the new information board could be put in place (see below).
The information board was funded by the 'Community Foundation for Calderdale',
who work with RES (Renewable Energy Systems), the operators of Todmorden Wind
Farm.
