TODMORDEN, HEBDEN BRIDGE, EASTWOOD, HARDCASTLE CRAGS & OLD TOWN

Three teams out today

Dick and Bernard constructed steps at Cross Stone and Richard J repaired a bridge at Bent Clough

The bridge before

With new slats
Gerald and Rich finished painting the posts for Gaddings dam and then went to Hebden Bridge to deal with an urgent problem with a rail on the riverside path.
Missing rails

Uprights rotten

Rail replaced and bracing bar attached

This is very much a temporary fix (hence the hazard tape) and the whole structure really needs replacing. The next step is to consult Calderdale Highways for advice on how to proceed.

Work today was supported by National Trust.

While we were there, we rescued the Foster Dam path sign from the stream - will need cleaning up and putting back on a new post.

Good job we had wellies with us!
The third job was to put in a waymark post for Todmorden Centenary Way above Stoodley Glen

Hopefully secure enough to stop the cows from pushing it over
Paul and Fred went to Hardcastle Crags to finish off the steps.

The last bit

They then went up to Old Town to put in a couple of waymark posts
