Hill House Brink, Height Road
Nick and Paul were out today finishing off a stretch of footpath on Hill House Brink. This is a long sloping footpath that comes down some steep banking from the Height Road to Raw Lane below. We had previously done some major upgrade to this footpath in the Spring and today we completed a short section by installing a further length of revetment and widening the path. We also ensured turn byes were clear and cut back the higher section from encroaching bramble and gorse.
It was a bright sunny day with good views over the Calder Valley and we were cheered on by several walkers and runners who were practising for the Calderdale Fell Runners race this coming week. Hill House Brink pathway is an integral part of the route.

It was a long downhill walk with the materials from the car parked on Height Road. Once on site we set about installing a 3.6 metre length of revetment; a continuation of a length we had fitted in the summer:

We then levelled and widened the path:

We then set about cutting back tendrils of bramble and overhanging gorse branches from the pathway as we ascended uphill to Height Road.
