There were two teams out from Todmorden today:
Team 1: Ken and Gareth were sorting out a stile on the Calderdale Way above The Butts (see separate Blog).

Today's stile on the Calderdale Way in need of some TLC. |
Team 2: Catherine, Kasher and RJ were working on Back Lane, near to Pex Tenements on Tod 031. The task was to shore up the side of the path where it was in danger of being washed away. This was the third attempt at this task but we think we may have sorted it (please keep your fingers crossed). The team spent most of the day in the clough moving stones to allow the water to flow in the middle of the stream. Stones which were removed were placed in front of and behind a barrier of timber which was anchored in place with metal road pins and wooden stobs.
Today's work has been funded by Todmorden Town Council. Many thanks for your continuing support.

The path has been eroded by fast-flowing water in the clough. This problem needs to be solved before the path disappears! |
