Ken & Gareth were despatched to the Calderdale Way above Great House Farm to repair a stile which had apparently been demolished by resident cattle wanting to use the gateway to get out and see the world.
Having checked that the residents were safely housed elsewhere, we rebuilt the stile by installing a new vertical side-post, new cross-rails and also an extra step. The latter proved tricky to install due to the stile sitting squarely on the line of the wall and therefore on a lot of stones. However, where there is a will there is a way! Ken also created some stone steps down from the stile using the rocks which had been piled up to keep the residents in their field.
Today’s work was funded by Calderdale Ramblers. Thanks as always.
