MYTHOLM - Granny Wood

Today's work was a second visit to secure the well-used path leading from the main road to Eaves estate. Peter, Linda, Rich and Billie put in revetment to secure path edges; cut back and widened the path and sorted some steps. Overall, a much bigger job than expected!

Today's work was funded by the very generous customers of the Fox and Goose.

 The details

First a cut back of the vegetation which was encroaching on the path and making it very narrow.

We could then truly see the state of the edge of the path - all of the old revetment was rotten and needed urgent replacement as the slope below the path is very steep . . . so it was a quick trip back to the depot for extra supplies.

Before and after: It is the same stretch of path!

Meanwhile, at the far end, the path was widened and the fence repaired.

Work in progress

This was a lengthy work session as we couldn't leave key sections of revetment part completed. It will need a further visit to install two more sections, widen more of the path and repair some of the steps.

This is a lovely and very well-used path.
