Charlie, Peter and Ginny were out today continuing with 2 jobs worked on earlier.
Firstly, at Lily Hall on the road to Heptonstall we worked on the old coffin route, A rotten waymark post was replaced and the footpath was widened. (No photos available)
This work at Lily Hall was funded by Heptonstall Parish Council. Many thanks.
Next we went, via Hardcastle Crags, to the path that goes from Nook down to Lumb Falls. It is a steep slope with a drain that we had previously cleared and we went to check if that work had been successful, and to continue clearing down to the bottom. However, when conditions are bone-dry it's hard to tell if drains are successful! . . . but it made a lovely lunch spot.
We checked for possible overflow points and pulled out a some blockages from this deep drain (see next picture).
