Height Road / Rowlands Lane Hebden Bridge

Height Road and Rowlands Lane jobs

Billie and Paul teamed up today as part of the jobs clear up day focusing on three small jobs near to Height Road and Rowlands Lane above Hebden Bridge. These were replacing 2 yellow-top marker posts above Wicken Hill Farm, installing a new marker post at the bottom end of Rowlands Lane and repainting two yellow-top posts on Hill House Brink below Height Road.

Work funded from CROWS donations. Thank you.

The detail.

The first job was upfield above Wicken Hill Farm through a pristine handsome stile built last week by Frank H and Co. From this point, two separate paths meander through sloping fields where two yellow- top posts, now rotted, had been placed on the skyline to help direct the walker. Both posts were replaced.

Cosmetic work on the second post!

We then went onto Rowlands Lane near Old Town driving down to Seed Hill and installing a new marker post on a footpath lower down above Dodd Naze.

Remarkably straight!

Onto the third job on a rickety path winding its way steeply downhill from Height Road (near where Betty's sweet shop used to be!). Here we repainted two neglected yellow-top marker posts that had seen better days.

Neglected post

Much improved!

At the end of the day, when all was said and done, it was good to see Paul brushing up his skills!

Get to it lad!
