TODMORDEN - Various

There were two teams out from Todmorden today.

Mick and Ken (welcome back) went back to Shaw Wood Rd (on Todmorden 035) to complete the work on the steps (see blog of 30 August ) and to cut back along this route. They then went to Bean Hole bridleway to check on a fallen branch which had been reported. There are two areas which need cutting back to make this route safer for riders and these will be sorted in the next few days.

Kasher and Catherine (welcome back) went to survey a number of tasks which had been reported to CROWS, namely:

  • Check out the problem of a 'disappearing' stone near the bridge below Pex Tenements
  • Insert an additional marker post above Daisy Bank Clough on Blackshaw 044 towards White Reaps Farm
  • Measure up for two stile repairs between Brown Road Farm (on Foul Clough Road) and Stoney Bank Farm (Inchfield area)
Whilst out, we also spotted other minor tasks some of which we did there and then and some which have been added to the ever-increasing "To Do" list.

We also checked out the recently installed Inchfield Moor open access notice board. It's still standing!

Today's work has been funded by Todmorden Town Council and by individual donations to CROWS. Many thanks.

Stiles surveyed along these routes.

Yellow topped marker post added here.

Stile near Back Lane which needs sorting.

New marker post added.

Damaged marker post/grab rail sorted out and repositioned.

Oak bush cut back and stile measured for repairs.

Another stile in need of TLC.

A session on replacing faded marker posts is needed!
