There was team of three (Catherine, Neil M and Kasher) out from Todmorden today.
After an initial visit to Windy Harbour to unload a new three way finger-post destined for the Calderdale Way / Todmorden Centenary Way intersection near Whirlaw, the team travelled to Hartley Royd.
We had been requested by Calderdale Highways to cut back the vegetation on the short footpath (Tod 064). This path cuts off the corner between Blue Bell Lane and the Bridleway Tod 049.
We took time out to admire the work of the contractors who have resurfaced the bridleway and replaced the gate between Stoney Lane and Hartley Royd.
The team then worked on the bridleway (Tod 049) between Hartley Royd and Hudson Bridge to improve the drainage. This route will be visited regularly over the winter months to keep the path in a reasonable state.
Whilst in the area, we improved some of the way marking. Blue bridleway waymarks fade rapidly in the strong Calderdale sunshine (!).
Today's work was funded by Calderdale Highways and by Todmorden Town Council. Many thanks.
