LUDDENDEN & MIDGLEY

Jerry and Rich added a waymark post and cleared some steps on a lovely path from the top of Midgley Road down through Brearley Woods. We then had a scenic journey (road closure) to the top of Luddenden Dean to install a new finger post and cut back a section of the Calderdale Way.

Today's work was funded by Midgley Community Forum and Luddenden Conservation Society.

The details

Many thanks to whoever has cleared the top of this path.

The yellow top post will mean people won't walk past without knowing about the path

36 stone steps cleared, 52 left to do - we will be back!

Then over to the top of Luddenden Dean for two jobs on the Calderdale Way.

The old post was rotten and was buried under the brambles
A recycled CW post was put in

Then down the road to work on the path coming up from Jerusalem Farm. The drainage problem was still there but partly dried out do we couldn't deal with it. Luckily, the muddy section of the path had a stone edge so cutting back the overhanging vegetation means it is now passable. Walking back, it was cutting back - mainly holly.

Finally.back to the depot to treat some new finger posts and to load up the interpretation board for delivery to Inchfield Moor.
