RIPPONDEN 3 sites

Lynda, Rich and Ginny did three cutting back jobs, one at Barkisland, one below Slack and one on the Calderdale Way on Ripponden Bank. Today's work was funded by Ripponden Parish Council.

This short path was completely overgrown and now clear

The path at Coneygarth was very overgrown and now cleared

The third site was where overhanging vegetation was forcing Calderdale Way walkers to step into the road on Ripponden Bank - risky!

The details

The path below Barkisland cross roads had been well used but due to rampant growth of brambles, nettles, rose bay willow herb and several other species, people has stopped using it. Now all cleared and the waymarks at both end are now visible.

Before and after - it's better than it looks!

Then on to Coneygarth to a delightful path that is part of the Three walks around Barkisland leaflet. Again the problem was pretty much the same overgrown vegetation as the first job.

Only just passable before we started

Finally a quick stop on Ripponden Bank to cut back some overhanging trees.
