WADSWORTH

 Wadsworth:- Seed Hill

Paul and Stella returned to the footpath below Seed Hill to finish widening the path, mainly at the top end, following previous work to install a flight of wooden steps and reset some existing stone ones. It was surprisingly dry first thing but, true to current form, the drizzle set in late morning. This did not deter us, however, and we were able to finish the path; widening it to a walkable width, trimming encroaching raspberry canes (there are plenty left!) and installing a recycled waymark post at the top end.

The work was funded by donations to CROWS. Thank you.

In the summer months, this path is so overgrown that it is difficult to see it, let alone walk through it! Water ingress over time has caused some deep rutting particularly at the top end. Along with widening the path we were able to re-use stones sourced from an on-site rubble pile to fill in those deep ruts.

Ruts filled in with turf and stones.

Path widened at the bottom end.

We widened the path at the bottom end and then installed a recycled waymark post at the top.
