CRAGG VALE

Andy, Dylan and Rich set off in appalling weather to work on a 'sheltered' path. 3 jobs - fixing a stile, cutting back vegetation and trying to control a torrent of water running down a path.

Today's work was funded by Hebden Royd Town Council. Many thanks.

Weather not looking too good!

The details

The track had water running down it and was full of mulch making it unpleasant to walk along.

The plan was to channel the water and reduce the mulch . . .  much wielding of shovels, scrapers and mattocks.

So much mud . . . so little time!

After a while, we took a break to cut back encroaching holly, bilberry etc. and to fix a cross-strut on a stile.

Then one last stint on the channel saw the water running nicely. It may now be self-scouring but we will need another visit to check this.
