TODMORDEN - Flailcroft and Todmorden Moor Geology Trail

What a fantastic day to be working outdoors! A team of five (Mick, Jerry, Ken, RJ and Kasher) went out from Todmorden today.

First we first went to Flailcroft (Todmorden 082) to backfill the steps which we worked on in the summer/autumn of 2023. The new steps - all 46 of them! - look good but will need checking early in the Spring to ensure that nettles are not taking over this FP!

We then moved to the Bacup road to install new marker posts and reposition old ones on the Todmorden Centenary Way (TCW) and the Todmorden Moor Geology Trail.

It was a good job that there were five CROWS to carry all the posts and equipment needed . . . it's a long, long uphill haul.

We are nearly at the end of sorting out the Geology Trail; there is only one more section to be done. However, we will need to return in the summer (when it's drier) to repaint the white tops of some of the Geology Trail markers and to replace some of the faded way markers.

Today's work has been funded by individual donations to CROWS. Many thanks.
