WADSWORTH - Pecket Well

 Pecket Well - Stoney Lane

Nick and Paul were out today in Stoney Lane cutting back a very overgrown path!

Our task was to cut back the extensive growth from this footpath that runs behind the Old Coop building. The path crosses the point where Pecket Clough water emerges and then goes up the old causeway path to meet the ROW leading to Lower Crimsworth Farm.

Using strimmer and hedge trimmer (combined with a deft touch of shears!), we battled to clear a way through the overgrowth of balsam, nettle and bush. In addition, we cut-back around the three gap-stiles that lead to the farm. This work will now ease the way for walkers who are attending the Smeekin Hill Centenary Memorial Service on the 23rd September.

Work funded by Wadsworth Parish Council - many thanks.
